Very nice staff! Dr. Greenberg is great! She is super nice and attentive. She truly pays attention to you and tries to find the source of your skin problem. The office is very nice and professional. There is parking at the side of the building but you will have better luck parking on the street.

Dr Greenberg is personable, through, and, important to some but not medical, on time. She found cancers on both my wife and me that our previous dermatologists had missed. Recommend her highly.

Any questions?

Dr. Lily specializes in medical dermatology which is centered around the diagnosis and treatment of health conditions and disorders affecting the skin, hair, and nails.

These can range from common skin rashes and acne to infections, allergic reactions, and different types of skin cancer. Early detection is key for reaching the best possible health outcomes and medical dermatology can be highly-effective for diagnosing an important health concern that requires immediate attention.

What common conditions are treated by medical dermatology?

Medical dermatology can diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. Some of the most common include:

  • Acne
  • Allergic rashes (hives)
  • Eczema (atopic dermatitis)
  • Fungal infections (athlete’s foot, ringworm)
  • Hair loss conditions
  • Nail conditions
  • Psoriasis
  • Rosacea
  • Skin cancers
  • Vitiligo
  • Warts
Are all skin conditions curable?
Not every skin condition can be cured, however, many chronic conditions such as psoriasis and eczema are managed effectively with early diagnosis and ongoing treatment regimens to preserve a normal quality of life. An early diagnosis of infection and certain skin cancers can increase the chances of reaching successful health outcomes.
Are skin cancer screenings common in medical dermatology?
Yes, skin cancer screenings are common and a vital component for diagnosis in medical dermatology. A full-body examination is performed to identify any anomalous growths, moles, or lesions that could prove to be cancerous. We will recommend that you schedule a screening if you have moles in various parts of your body, if you have fair skin or freckles, if you frequently use a tanning bed, or if there is a history of skin cancer in your family.
When is the best time to see a medical dermatologist?
You should schedule an appointment in the event you notice redness, itching, irritation, swelling, or persistent rash anywhere on your skin, any changes in the appearance of a mole or if you notice new growths on your skin, or if you are suffering from chronic acne that doesn’t respond to over-the-counter treatments. Atypical hair loss patterns, scalp health concerns, or changes in the color or thickness of your nails are also indicators that you should schedule an appointment for consultation.
What should I expect from my first appointment with Dr. Lily?
Arrive to the appointment in loose-fitting clothes and refrain from wearing any makeup or nail polish if these areas of the body are being examined. During the appointment, she will go over your medical history, review any medications you may be taking, discuss your current symptoms and how they started.

After the consultation, we will perform a physical examination of the areas on the body that are demonstrating symptoms. If necessary, additional tests may be conducted such as a skin biopsy, blood panel, or allergy test to gather more information as to the cause of your symptoms.

Once a diagnosis is complete, we will develop a treatment regimen to alleviate or manage the condition that is affecting your quality of life.

What types of treatment options are involved in curing or managing common skin conditions?
The type of treatment prescribed is determined by your specific skin condition or disorder. In many cases, topical treatments such as corticosteroids and antifungals are prescribed to address the issue. Oral medications including antibiotics, antifungals, and antihistamines are common solutions that can be prescribed on their own or in combination with topical treatments.

Certain treatments may be prescribed to address specific chronic conditions or disorders, including injectable biologics, light-based therapies, cryotherapy procedures, and surgical intervention to remove malignant tissue.

Is acne categorized as a medical condition?
Yes, acne is considered a medical condition because persistent or extreme cases can result in skin infection and scarring. A severe case of acne is often difficult to treat with over the counter remedies. We can diagnose your acne symptoms to determine if medical-grade intervention is needed in the form of topical or oral antibiotics.
Does stress have an impact on the condition of my skin?
Absolutely. Stress plays a factor in triggering or accelerating many common skin conditions such as acne, eczema, rosacea, and eczema. We may develop a treatment regimen that includes medical intervention alongside stress-reduction therapies to prevent further outbreaks or flare-ups of your condition.
What steps can I take to protect the health of my skin?
Good skin health starts with proper care and maintenance. That means limiting sun exposure and using sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher when spending any prolonged amount of time outdoors. If you are a smoker, the time to stop is now as smoking has been shown to damage skin. Reducing your stress and getting a good night’s sleep are effective ways to protect the health of your skin and performing routine self-examinations can help with obtaining an early diagnosis of any potential health issues you may be experiencing on your skin.
